Mary Chandler on her Nantucket career:
“My painting career began on Nantucket with exhibiting at the Sherburne Gallery on Main St. from 1989-1991. In 1991-1994 I moved over to the Sun Gallery which was on Old South Wharf. From there I went to Main Street Gallery in 1994-1999. During that time at Main Street, exhibiting artists in company were Katie Trinkle Legge and Elizabeth Congdon. In 1999, Reggie Levine closed Main Street Gallery and had me placed in Robert Wilson Gallery. I was with RW Gallery until 2002 when I went back to work full time as a book designer and put my painting career on the back burner.
I’ve resurrected my career rejoining the Copley Society of Boston, New England Watercolor Society, Rockport Art Association, and American Artist Professional League.”
