Designer & Founder of Sea Holly Studio, Christine Burleson began the professional floral journey with our sister company, Eibhlin Fern Florals. It started out small with dried floral arrangements & decor and took off from there. Chris expanded her passion by bringing floral art to Nantucket Island and beyond. She believes that education and enrichment never end, so every off-season is spent perfecting this craft through enrichment travels, mentorships & classes.
With a floral education based on the foundation of art and design, Chris Burleson uses her experience along with botanical knowledge to push boundaries and create one-of-a-kind art blooms. With a hands-on approach, She is working alongside local Nantucket & New England growers as well as bringing in blooms from her own garden. Sea Holly Studio uses Nantucket local first, and also sources from responsible wholesalers.
Sea Holly Studio got its name from the coastal wildflower, Sea Holly (or Eryngium). Massachusetts is the only state in North America known to have wild Sea Holly, with the flower thriving on our harsh coastlines. Sea Holly welcomes the salt air with open arms and roots itself into our shores. Her unique, steel blue flower heads stand tall, weathering our New England storms. I admire and adore this flower for all of these reasons.
Sea Holly Studio is a unique botanical artistry studio. I strive to share with you my authenticity & dedication to this craft. Artist, Danielle Stanton designed the Sea Holly logo to include the flower’s roots. This is an ode to my daughter, who draws all of her flowers with roots. I’ve laid my roots down on the shores of Nantucket & look forward to sharing my work with you.
