David Lazarus was born in London, England in 1952. He studied at the Bath Academy of Art in England. in the 1970’s, he visited to Nantucket to do scrimshaw, having spent time working with the scrimshanders in Bellingham, Washington. He first scrimmed for the Four Winds Craft Guild superceding the famous Robert Spring.
Lazarus is known for woodcuts, etchings, watercolors and most recently he has delved in oils both impressionistic and purely abstract. In the past he exhibited at the (X) Gallery, the South Wharf Gallery, and the Old Spouter Gallery. He continues to be represented by Four Winds Craft Guild and AAN.
