Nantucket, Massachusetts artist Valeri Arnold-Osley is a realist/impressionist fine art painter who specializes in portraits, seascapes, marine, landscapes, and still life. She does this with oil paints on linen, graphite on cotton rag and pastel on paper. All usually on the theme of Nantucket life.
She began drawing and painting at the age of three years. Later, going on to study fine art at, the Art Students League, NY, School of Visual Arts, NY, Kean College, NJ, and University of Houston, Tx. She has studied portraiture with world renowned artist Daniel Greene.
After marriage to her husband Phil on Nantucket Island, enjoying eight ours, mine, and his children, and a brief career as a nurse, she returned to her passion of making fine art. Her many paintings hang in the homes of private individuals, celebrities, corporations, businesses, and hotels.
She has said, that, ‘Nantucket Island has this unique lighting that cascades off it’s inviting shores, landscape, and people. In my mind it seems to visually pour out colors for me to create many interesting themes.’
She is an artist member of the Artist Association of Nantucket/ Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery. Including her private studio/gallery on Nantucket Island, where she resides.
