Course Description

Experience the creative medium of alcohol inks! You’ll learn various ink manipulation techniques to create soft flowing colors. Create intuitively as you learn how this wonderful medium reacts through various application techniques. We will touch on color theory tips with harmonious color palettes, various materials and finishing techniques. This is a wonderful introduction to an enjoyable creative form of expression.

No previous experience is necessary.

AAN is able to provide scholarships/tuition aid through the Healing Through the Creative Arts Program. This program is made possible through funding from the Town of Nantucket Human Services Department. For questions or assistance please contact Elizabeth Buccino, Director of Education

AAN depends upon student tuition to continue to offer classes and workshops. Due to our commitment to small class sizes and the hands-on nature of art education, we are greatly impacted by cancellations. Nevertheless, we do understand that plans change. Leyah Jensen Marshall

Leyah holds a BFA Honors degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. Studies in fine art have taken her worldwide, from acclaimed institutions like the Danish Design School and Pacific Northwest College of Art to Artist Residencies in India, Haiti, and Nepal. She is the recipient of distinguished awards ranging from a National Gold Medal in Art & Design (VICA) to New York Book Show 1st place winners and #1 bestselling pop-ups (New York Times). Locally she is a recipient of the Chase Plein-Air Award, and enjoys sharing her broad fluency in art mediums through teaching while working as a fine artist and children’s book creator in Nantucket.
